Oakview Village Cork City is in the heart of Cork City Centre. We provide children of Cork City Council employees with the highest standard of care. Our objective is to create a child centred, inclusive environment while implementing the High Scope method of teaching. High Scope approach to learning is a quality approach to Early Childhood Care and Education which has been shaped and developed by research and practice over 50 years. It identifies and builds on children's strengths, interests and abilities.
We have created a friendly child-centred environment where our highly qualified staff provide excellent Early Years Care and Education. We offer Full and Part time services as well as Sessional ECCE placements.
At Oakview Village Cork City, our aim is to provide the highest standard of care, delivered in our facility located in Cork City Hall. We have a Nursery, a Toddler Room and a Preschool Room with a fully enclosed outdoor space. We cater for children from 3 months to 6 years school going age. We operate Full Time care from the hours of 8.00 - 6.00pm Monday to Friday, or sessional for ECCE only children from 9 - 12 during the ECCE term. We can cater for a maximum of 41 children at any one time.
We operate the ECCE Preschool Scheme as well as the National Childcare Scheme under DCYA regulation.
Oakview endeavours that children have opportunity on a daily basis for physical exercise so as to provide for the development of their gross motor skills in an outdoor environment. We have a fully enclosed outdoor play area with a planting raised garden for the children to grow and plant. We have a lovely sand and water table located in our covered outdoor area. Physical activity is of utmost importance and we strive to provide fun outdoor play developing the children’s gross motor skills.
